lol, CK IMO is overpriced. I can buy four Hope Pro 2s for the same price as a single CK front hub, both are insanely good quality. You pay for the CK name IMO.

Yeah, my situation at the shop is a confusing one though so I have no clue if I still get E.P. I wasn't fired or anything, I just didn't have any time this summer to work(provincial volleyball team, so its not some bullshit excuse lol) and when i did have time they said the season was slowing down and that they didnt need me. and through winter they don't need me either. so im in a bit of a confusing situation lol. That price for the wheels actually isnt through the shop, thats through chainreactioncycles.com.

I'll see what happens. Lots of factors are put into this cause im in a weird position at the shop i work at. Long story. I'm a possible buyer if its 200, just need to talk to the shop first.

I don't really wanna be a dick, but I think its a bit too much considering its a deore rear hub. I'll pass, I think I'm gonna be building up a set this winter. Atomlab Pimps to Hope Pro 2s. for 360.

I haven't fully tested out the rotors yet. The only way you can get some would be through me because I personally make the rotors.

oops i think i misfrased that. i basically want it gone.nothing wrong with the cranks but if you dont want them they might be gay and charge me 30 bucks to remove a bb again.

sorry i saw your querstion about the goodridge,to be honest i wouldnt bother,my bud has them on the same brakes i do and they aint much better.

might be stronger but for power you really cant tell a difference.

trekrules wrote
February 6, 2008 at 2:16
i don't have them yet but they are many times better than the plastic normal lines. But they are pretty expensive but well worth it since goodridge is best.In moto and car racing scene they are using them as well

creamsoda89 wrote
February 4, 2008 at 21:16
yes, definitely, and if you're too cheap for now, removing 1-2 links off your chain may do for the time being. trials dudes run a REALLY short chain - look at their cages, they're pulled all the way up, and they don't need chainguides. ex. search jeff lenosky and dylan korba "what the pros ride".

thing is, i don't know if that has any adverse affects on the derailleur lifespan or anything, but i doubt it. the additional chain tension shouldn't make it any worse for the wear on the chain, as SS setups run even more chain tension.

if you go the short-chain, stretched-derailleur route, expect crappy, clunky shifting but chainguideless joy (and therefore, less weight).

creamsoda89 wrote
February 4, 2008 at 20:59
i propose two solutions:

1) singlespeed (obviously)

but 2) is not so obvious: try taking 1-2 links out of your chain - it should run the derailleur cage closer in, giving you more clearance and chain tension. it'll shift crappier but it'll give you more chain tension. using sram derailleurs also help enormously.

and another obvious point in case you missed it: tune your drivetrain, and make sure you don't have stiff links, and stuff like that.
